Remove duplicate lines and blank lines online
This is useful for pasted checklists, exported name lists, and repeated notes. The cleaner works with text lines; it does not parse CSV columns or validate email addresses.
- Paste a list or multiline text into the cleaner.
- Choose whether to trim line edges, remove empty lines, and remove duplicate lines.
- Enable case-insensitive matching only if differently capitalized lines should count as the same.
- Review the before and after line counts, then copy or download the result.
Example
Input lines: “ apple ”, “apple”, “Apple”, and an empty line. With trim, blank-line removal, and duplicate removal enabled: “apple” and “Apple” remain. Enable ignore case to keep only “apple”.
What to check before copying
- Duplicate removal keeps the first occurrence and preserves the order of the remaining lines.
- Trimming removes whitespace at each line’s edges. It does not collapse spaces inside a sentence or join wrapped paragraphs.
- Turn off duplicate removal for poems, logs, or other documents where repeated lines are meaningful. Keep a copy of the original before a large cleanup.
